PDFBit ("us", "we", or "our") operates the PDFBit mobile application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We do not collect any personally identifiable information. Most processing (Merge, Split, Compress, Image to PDF) happens directly on your device. For cloud-based conversion features (PDF to Word, Word to PDF), your files are uploaded to our secure servers solely for the purpose of processing and are deleted immediately after the conversion is complete.
2. File Processing
- Local Processing: Files processed using local tools never leave your device.
- Cloud Processing: When using conversion tools, files are transmitted via secure HTTPS encryption. We do not store, share, or analyze the content of your files.
3. Permissions
The application may request the following permissions:
- Storage/Media: To read and write PDF and image files that you select for processing.
- Camera: To take photos and scan documents directly within the app for conversion to PDF.
- Internet: Required only for cloud-based conversion features and checking for updates.
4. Third-Party Services
We may use third-party service providers to facilitate our Service, such as cloud conversion APIs. These third parties have access to your documents only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use them for any other purpose.
5. Security
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
